A photo magazine will be published to accompany the festival. The idea for this came from a photo competition initiated by Werkleitz that called on people from the Mansfeld region to send in pictures of their home area that for them represented answers to the question: “What is your precious treasure?” The treasure trove of images accumulated from the competition submissions formed the foundation. It was then extended by photographs from requested photographers from the region and a few archive materials. The magazine also contains photographs, found objects, and montages from the research and preliminary work of all the artists involved in the festival. In addition to the editorial by Daniel Herrmann and Alexander Klose, the magazine also includes an essay by curator Lena Reisner. She went on a research trip to the Mansfeld region for Werkleitz and returned with stories of women working down the mines. Furthermore, there are maps and route descriptions for the thematic walks developed by Lars Fischer for the festival, as well as a dialogue between Daniel Herrmann and Jonathan Everts, professor of human geography at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, on steel bridges, romantic natural philosophy, data mining, instrumental rationality, and holistic thinking.

The magazine can be purchased on-site at the exhibition or obtained from: info(at)werkleitz.de (while supplies last).
